"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." In NY, racing changes are coming pretty fast, and if you don’t move with them, you get lost in the shuffle. Things are also changing with the NY Bred Racing program, and I think things are changing for the better. You’ve heard the expression “the future is so bright. I’ve got to wear shades!” I think we’ve got some exciting things to look forward to: not just an extended Saratoga meet spanning from July 4 to Labor Day, but a brand spanking new, beautiful Belmont Park. In case you didn’t know, many of the big races starting at the end of November will be on the new one-mile all-weather track inside the two turf courses. Coincidentally, that’s why I am purchasing horses that, from their lineage, conformation, and stride, look like they may exhibit a propensity to handle this brand-new surface. When I say brand new surface, I mean brand new surface for New York racing.
The two 2 year fillies that I just purchased are eligible for two very lucrative racing series. One is the New York Stallion Stakes series for the Freud filly. And you may ask….
“Tom, why did you buy a Freud filly? They only run on the turf.“
#1 He’s the best stallion New York ever had, siring not just champions and millionaires, but multiple grade 1 stakes winners. The beauty of this is that his progeny run on all surfaces!
#2 since the big race series that we will be targeting may be run on all three surfaces. Starting with the dirt in November and then switching to the all weather track after the beginning of December. If you own a piece of this fabulous horse, you are already one step ahead.
Our other filly by Epicenter, now named Belle Vitesse (who, by the way, sold out in three weeks), will be eligible for the new racing series, which is based on two all-weather tracks: the one at Belmont and the one at Woodbine. We will have multiple $300,000 stake races, and the only horses that are eligible are registered New York breds, along with Ontario breds.
I had a discussion with our trainer yesterday morning, and he thought (provided the horse cooperates) we should think about training the Freud exclusively yours filly up to a race at the Saratoga meet to prep her for the big money race the end of November. By then she will be well seasoned and have the experience she needs to vanquish her foes in that high caliber big money race.
#3 The next step for you is to take a close look at our newest acquisition and get involved before she sells out.
Why this filly is the next Dream Maker Racing star:
Elite Pedigree: She is by Freud, the most prolific sire in New York history and a full brother to Giant's Causeway. He has sired over 70 black-type winners and multiple Grade 1 champions.
Proven Family: Her dam, Exclusively Yours, has already produced winners of over $1 million, including 2-year-old stakes winner Howdyoumakeurmoney.
Lucrative Eligibility: She is eligible for the $2.3 million NY Stallion Stakes Series and a new $3.2 million racing series based on the all-weather tracks at Belmont and Woodbine.
Athletic Mechanics: She possesses a mature, wide head for maximum airflow, a powerful rump, and a fluid stride that glides over the ground like a stealth fighter jet.
